Refuse Compactor are available both on Trailer as well as Truck chassis. Trailer mounted Garbage Compactor has side lifting bin arrangement, while the truck mounted has rear mounting bin lifting arrangement.
The function of the Refuse compactor is to collect the waste from the container and reduce the volume. First the garbage is collected inside the tailgate with the help of bin lifting mechanism from the container. The garbage is then pushed inside the body with the help of the pusher plate. The garbage is then compacted with the help of the compaction plate. The compaction can be achieved upto 3 times depending upon the material. The compaction plate acts as the ejection plate at the dumping site, when empting the material. A knuckle boom crane attachment is also available for lifting underground disposal garbage bins. The crane is fitted between the cabin and the rear body.
